Why do the app's widgets display a different subtotal than the cart?

If you’ve noticed that the app’s widgets are showing a different subtotal than what’s displayed in your cart, this discrepancy is likely caused by another app modifying cart item prices. Here’s why this happens and how to resolve it:

What’s Causing the Issue?

This typically occurs when you’re using an app like:

  • Volume Discount Apps: These apps apply dynamic pricing based on quantity purchased.
  • Product Options Apps: These apps adjust prices based on custom options or configurations selected by customers.

 

These apps modify item prices visually in the cart and apply their changes to the checkout via special draft orders. This means the cart subtotal seen by our app’s widgets might not reflect the adjusted prices.

How Can This Be Fixed?

To ensure accurate subtotal tracking, our app needs to integrate directly with the volume discount or product options app you’re using. By doing so, we can sync with their price adjustments and display the correct subtotal in the widgets.
