Why is my progress bar widget not visible?

If your progress bar widget isn’t showing up, don’t worry! This usually happens for one of the following reasons:

1. A New Theme Was Published

If you recently published a new theme that wasn’t a copy of the old one, the Dr Free Gift, BOGO Buy X Get Y app’s widget locations may no longer match the new theme.

Solution:

Reconfigure the progress bars on the new theme. This will update the widget placement and restore visibility.

2. No Eligible Gift Goals

The progress bar widget only displays when there are active gift goals. If no goals are eligible, the widget will remain hidden.
This can happen if:

All goals are scheduled to start in the future.
Goals have expired.
Goals are disabled (e.g., due to sold-out or draft products).
Goals don’t match the visitor’s location (e.g., IP-based geolocation).

Solution:

Ensure you have at least one active and eligible goal available.

Testing Geolocation Issues

If you suspect that IP-based geolocation might be the issue, you can test it by adding a special parameter to your shop’s URL. Here’s how:

Go to your store and add the following to the URL:
?docapp-test-ip=75.74.1.1
Replace 75.74.1.1 with an example IP address for the eligible location. You can find example IPs by searching online for phrases like “example USA IP address.”

This test helps confirm whether geolocation is preventing the widget from appearing.
