Why didn’t I receive a gift for the orders that I should have?

If you placed an order that met the Dr Free Gift, BOGO Buy X Get Y app’s gift qualification requirements but didn’t receive the expected gift, there are several potential causes to investigate:

Gift Product Status Issues

The most common reasons for missing gifts relate to the gift product’s status in Shopify:

  1. Stock Availability
    • Check if the gift product was out of stock when you placed your order
    • The system cannot award gifts that aren’t available in inventory
  2. Product Status
    • Verify the gift product’s status in Shopify Products admin
    • The product must be set to “Active” – other statuses like Draft or Archived will prevent gift awards
    • Make sure the gift product isn’t unpublished from the “Online Store” sales channel – this will prevent gifts from being awarded

 

Prevention

To avoid gift award issues:

  1. Maintain adequate gift inventory
  2. Keep gift products in “Active” status
  3. Monitor gift product settings regularly
