Why does the page initially show a higher quantity for the gift when a single gift is added to the cart?
Shopify doesn’t natively support automatic gift additions to the cart, but our app, Dr. Free Gift solves this by adding free products once a predefined goal is met. However, gifts added this way may not immediately appear in the drawer cart unless the page is reloaded or navigated.
Why Drawer Cart Integration Is Needed
Since the app adds gifts separately from the customer’s action, the drawer cart initially only shows the paid product. To fix this, our app includes integrations with hundreds of drawer cart types, ensuring the gift is displayed immediately.
Common Issues with Drawer Cart Integration
In some cases, the integration may not work as expected, causing issues like:
- Gifts or paid products showing incorrect quantities.
- The drawer cart failing to update properly.
Solutions
- Contact Support: If you encounter issues, our team can investigate and often resolve them the same day.
- Fallback Options: If integration improvements aren’t possible we will need to remove the integration. In this case you can adjust the app’s fallback action in the settings:
- Reload the current page.
- Redirect customers to the full cart page.
