Offering free gifts with Dr Free Gift, BOGO Buy X Get Y can significantly boost sales and customer satisfaction, but the success of your gift program largely depends on how effectively you promote it to your customers.
Restricting gifts to specific user groups, membership tiers, or registered customers is not possible because user information only becomes available after login. This would create inconsistencies in displaying gift qualification status during browsing.
Available Targeting Options
The only customer-specific targeting currently available is geographic location targeting, which uses IP-based geolocation to determine eligibility. This works consistently regardless of user login status.
To implement geographic targeting:
- Access the “Goal Geo Targeting” section in your gift goal settings
- Choose “Selected countries” option
- Select the specific countries where your promotion should be active
While membership-based targeting isn’t feasible due to technical limitations with user authentication, you can still create targeted promotions using geographic location filters to reach specific customer segments.
